Even stars need a little extra shine and dazzle when it comes to the Oscars. And this year had some amazing examples of how Oscar diamonds—in stunning rings, earrings, and necklaces—can enhance designer outfits on the red carpet. After all, we say, “go big or go for a big award!”

Here are some of the acclaimed favorites. For a fuller look at all the Oscar diamonds, see whoworewhatjewels.com, Harpers Bazaar, and naturaldiamonds.com.

Stars and sparkles

Zendaya in Bulgari: She rocked a 13-carat Serpenti High Jewelry necklace with 218 step-cut diamonds and 12 layered wraparound diamond bracelets set in 18-karat white gold. (Photo: WIre)

Nicole Kidman in Harry Winston: The classic Eagle necklace recalled Old Hollywood with a 33.4-carat yellow diamond surrounded by 205 pear-shaped, marquise, and round brilliant diamonds totaling 27.55 carats and set in 18k yellow gold and platinum. All this, plus matching earrings, bracelets and a big ol’ diamond ring. (Photo: Michael Baker/A.M.P.A.S.)

Jessica Chastain in Gucci: She matched her Gucci-designed gown with the company’s high jewelry lion’s head earrings had 13.32 carats of diamonds and colored spinels.

Caitriona Balfe in Van Cleef & Arpels: She showed that even a white gown glows more with diamonds. Her look—1957 bow diamond collar, earrings, and bracelet—were inspired, she said, by Balenciaga with “a touch of Grace Kelly.”

Lupita Nyong’o in De Beers: She shone in De Beers earrings with fancy deep orange, pink, and white diamonds in 18K write, yellow and rose gold. Her ensemble included a De Beers’ Alchemist of Light Rays crown ring with 2.93 carats of fancy vivid orange and white diamonds in titanium and white and rose gold.

And one standout from the Oscar gentlemen …

Timothee Chalamet in Cartier: This heartthrob’s striking shirtless look spotlighted a magnificent collection of Cartier panther jewelry. His necklace was 18-karat piece featuring white gold bejeweled with diamonds, onyx, and emeralds for the panther’s eyes. He also wore panther rings and bracelets. He happens to be an ambassador for Cartier jewelry— we think he did the company proud. (Photo: Reuters)
